Stuttering Comic Has The Crowd Roaring

It’s hard enough to get on stage in front of a live audience. It’s harder still when you’re in front of a live audience and an entire TV audience. Add to that the fact that you have a speech disability…and then that you’re on said stage to perform stand-up comedy?! At this point many people would be running for the hills, as far away from the spotlight as they could possibly get.

Such were the circumstances for Drew Lynch. After being hit with a softball to the throat at a company softball game at the age of 20, he suffered a vocal trauma that left him with a noticeable stutter. Rather than hide, however, it pushed him to step out on a stage and attempt something he’d always wanted to try: stand-up comedy.

Watch his audition on “America’s Got Talent” below. He has managed to turn what most would consider a tragedy into a source of strength. He is as funny as he is inspirational, and his comedy reflects that.

What did you think of Lynch’s audition? Did you feel both humored and inspired? Let us know in the comments, and¬†SHARE¬†on Facebook if you found it as funny as we did!
